On April 11, another successful and educational day was held at the Liepaja Energy Efficiency Center, where the 7th seminar of the free seminar cycle took place, this time on the Energy Audit.
Energy audits, or building management and determining the degree of energy efficiency of energy use, are important for increasing energy efficiency. The final result of an energy audit is the analysis of data that provides information on building heat transfer and loss, recommended renovation and improvement works, and other energy efficiency measures.
During the seminar, Kārlis Grīnbergs, Board Member of CMB and Head of Energy Audit Division, gave an insight into energy efficiency measures. CMB is an engineering office that also carries out energy audits for buildings and offers energy certification. For the most classic energy efficiency improvement measure, K. Grīnbergs acknowledged the strengthening of the enclosing structures, which not only often improves the visual image of the buildings, but also saves up to 50% of money spent!
Oļegs Rukšāns, the market research analyst of Latvenergo AS, informed about the latest developments in the energy market – the single Baltic-Nordic electricity market, the role of HPPs in electricity generation, the dynamics of the energy market and future business prices.
Advice on the use of effective connection capacity was given by Jurģis Vinniņš, Corporate Customer Service Manager of JSC “Sadales Tīkls”. The cost of using electricity is high, so it is important to optimize it by using the connection power efficiently. Reducing the total cost of electronics can, for example, be abandoned by unnecessary grid connection. Other tips by J. Vinniņš on how to reduce costs and how the power supply capacity of the network depends on you can read here in the presentation of J.Vinniņš.
Jānis Šipkovs, Chairman of the Board of “Data Mining Solutions” Ltd., spoke about practical ways to work more efficiently with energy and water consumption data. The company specializes in the implementation of energy monitoring systems and energy management (ISO 50001), which is why J.Šipkov gave a detailed description of what the Energy System is, how it works and how to use it to work more productively.
With the AvandGrid monitoring system, or virtual energy engineer, an innovative power grid monitoring solution, listeners were introduced by Juris Polcs, Sales Director of AdvanGrid, LLC.
Digitalization and technology also play a major role in increasing the company’s energy efficiency, so Inese Dosē, Head of the Consulting Division of SIA PriceWaterhousCoopers Latvia and Energy Expert, presented the presentation on the latest technologies and current events such as drones, virtual reality, 3D printing and others. technologies play a major role in the sustainability of the company, so it is important to evaluate the processes through the digitization and technology prism.
Edgars Kudurs, Head of the Energy Efficiency Division of AS “Development Finance Institution Altum”, was the last speaker at the Energy Audit seminar, who talked about energy efficiency on the energy side. The National Development Finance Institution ” Altum ‘also provides loans to increase the energy efficiency of companies and can finance improvements in electrical systems, replacement of electrical appliances, heat supply, mobility and other energy-related cost positions in the company.
