GEMSTONE  – GrEen Manufacturing SupporTing recOvery and resilieNcE of industrial SME Project no. SMP-COSME-2021-CLUSTER-01

Project aim

The aim of the project is to improve the understanding of industrial production companies about green production. The project supports European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the transition to greener production in five sectors:
  • aeronautics/defense,
  • energy,
  • mobility,
  • agriculture/agri-food,
  • materials
GEMSTONE is based on three pillars of effective support: research, training and innovation. GEMSTONE supports the development of accessible services for manufacturing companies – in connection with professional training, technological innovations and internationalization of operations. Supported companies will be invited to implement the identified solutions. Funding mechanisms to enable companies to act and facilitate their digital transition efforts.
The first cycle of the project is developing the GEMSTONE guide, a way to increase companies’ awareness of the potential and economic viability of green manufacturing. In order to achieve the project’s objective, the cluster initiative (EUROCLUSTERS) wants to create a definition of production that takes into account the opinions and real needs of companies that want to progress in this matter. GEMSTONE envisages the creation of a flexible, easy-to-use and transparent system for companies to increase productivity by transforming production by integrating green, easy-to-use and sustainable solutions.
The possibility to apply for support for research and training will be opened in June 2023, but for innovation already this in September 2023.
