We met again this Thursday at the Liepaja Energy Efficiency Center to talk about “Digitalization of Production.” Automation of production processes not only contribute to money savings but also increase production efficiency, improve job safety, conserve natural resources and provide many other benefits. How to digitize the production, who can do it, which is supported by the state – all of it and more by the speakers of the seminary Ravis Eksteins, Gatis Silovs and Edgars Kudurs.
The workshop was started by Ravis Eksteins, a member of the Board of Governors of InPass Ltd. The company creates and offers its customers solutions that allow measuring productivity for a variety of technological equipment and spaces, listing working time, monitoring printing equipment on a computer network, and even monitoring the climate in agricultural grain towers. Raivis told listeners about the digitization of production by automating data entry.
Gatis Silovs, deputy director of the Economy Ministry’s Department of Industry Policy, said of state aid to companies for the deployment of innovation and digital technologies. With state aid, several digitalization solutions have been created in Latvia, which increases profits in companies and even opens up new markets for our domestic producers. The Ministry of Economy provides both informational and finasial support to companies in relation to increasing energy efficiency and digitalization.
As “Development Finance Institution Altum” Head of the energy efficiency part of companies Edgars Kudurs talked about the funding for energy efficiency. Edgars also explained the results of the survey conducted by Dienas Bizness – 77 per cent of company executives do not know or can only guess the amount of energy consumption for equipment and processes in their companies, which merely shows how important it is keep talking about this topic in Latvia.
