How to become more environment-friendly and save money while maintaining mobility? On February 28 a seminar about electrical transport was held at the Liepaja Energy Efficiency Center, where lecturers from different organizations explained and demonstrated the wide opportunities offered by electric transport.
Artis Daugins, a member of the board of SIA Blue Shock Race, talked about the electric kart created in Latvia, while Jānis Kozlovskis from SIA Boards Unlimited presented his invention – Self-Balancing Electrodes Wild-Weel, which is also used by band`s Brainstorm vocalist Renārs Kaupers.
Arnis Bergs, chairman of the board of the Society “Bezizmešu mobilitātes atbalsta biedrība” , informed the audience about the market of alternative fuel, which is a renewable energy resource.
Krišjānis Vīdušs, Head of SMART at SIA Lucidus, talked about the different segments of charging stations, and how to smart and efficiently recharge e-mobile at home, while Aldis Melkerts, the manager of MMX Energy Ltd., informed about E-transport charging stations. The company specializes in the installation and maintenance of private and public charging stations.
Elvijs Skuja, SIA “Energolukss” Product Manager talked about Alfen and NRGkick Electric Car and Heliox Bus Chargers. Aivis Ozoliņš Specialist of CSDD Electromobility and Radar System Development at SJSC “CSDD” talked about the network of fast charging stations of electric cars created by CSDD. According to the statistics, the most popular charging stations are on the A2 highway, which leads from Riga to Sigulda, but who knows, maybe in a not-too-far future, the charging stations on the A9 highway will become more popular, bringing more electric cars to Liepaja?
Toms Lācis and Edgars Korsaks Mills, Latvenergo JSC “Energy Efficiency Project Managers” informed about the experience and practical benefits of the Electricity Users using video-friendly means of transportation. Mārcis Priedītis, Director of RTU Liepaja Branch, informed the audience about the experience of Riga Technical University using the VW e-Up. In 2014, RTU purchased 12 M1 category electric cars for the project “Climate Change Financial Instrument”, which provides mobility for daily routines for faculty deans and student parliament. 12 charging points for electric transport are installed in the university territory.
During the seminar, as well as afterwards, it was possible to see 4 electric cars by the Coworking Liepaja building. The participants of the seminar were attracted by the new Hyundai Kona EV, as well as one of the fastest and most powerful electric cars – Tesla Model S.
