Companies, especially companies from Kurzeme, have been actively using the Green and Smart Cluster (hereafter – Cluster) for six years now, and the year has passed since the launch of a specific support program, which provides both small and medium-sized enterprises with financial support for certain activities and the ability to build and strengthen business contacts.

The essence of the cluster is not only to combine the interests of different companies, but also to establish business cooperation with educational and research institutions.  Claster’s activity proves that it may be that companies that compete in one aspect are seriously cooperating in another way.

Currently Cluster has more than 50 members active in whole or in part in the field of green and smart technologies, implementing activities for production efficiency or resource economy, or introducing environmentally friendly solutions for production. The Cluster also invites to join business support organizations and municipalities.

It is important for an enterprise to be able to join a membership list if it already exports its services or products, or intends to begin to do so in the near future. An essential criterion for admission is whether the company is prone to growth and cooperation.

Cluster is currently a very popular form of collaboration. Also at the local level – at the level of Latvia, companies have the opportunity to join a total of 19 different Clusters of different fields.

The Green Tech Cluster currently implements projects co-financed by 4 European Union funds for a total amount of approximately 625 000 EUR. At the same time, with Cluster’s help, you can apply for other programs and get support.

Last October, Cluster received a Bronze assessment as part of the Claster Excellence Initiative. This assessment is a quality mark for the work done by Cluster at European level and provides important recommendations for future development.

We invite you to become Cluster member, to take an active part in Cluster’s activities and, above all, to make our own initiatives to jointly implement them. More information: www.greentechlatvia.eu.
