From August 23 to 26 within the framework of the project BEE Lab (aim – to boost regional entrepreneurship by enabling cross border cooperation) we launched Summer Business School in Saldus for young people. In total 20 participants applied from Saldus and Saldus district, Broceni, Kuldiga, Talsi, Daugavpils and 4 participants from Rietava (Lithuania).
The aim of the school was to provide basic knowledge and practical skills in starting and running a business, as well as the opportunity to develop their own innovative business ideas. Experts shared their knowledge and experience on how to make a step closer to fulfill a dream about own business and how to make a dream come true.
The event was attended by Saldus district council chairman Reinis Doniņš, Lead Partner of project Rietavas Tourism and Business Information Center and its project manager Rasa Baliulevičiene, as well as our Green-Tech Cluster and our project manager Arvils Jākabsons.
During the 4-day marathon participants were able to absorb knowledge from experts such as the representative of the leading global coaching company The John Maxwell Team – the certified business coach Janis Janovskis, the doctor of University of Latvia – Inta Kulberga, the owner of Go-cart Hall BSR Riga – Artis Daugins, Public Relations and Marketing Specialist – Dzintars Hmieļevskis, Ltd Teibu owner Edīte Irbe, Dāvis Paipa – co-owner of Ovi Watch and Kurzeme Region Manager – Ilze Grundmane of Development Finance Institution ALTUM .
