The goal of the BalticSeaH2 project is to promote communication and understanding of the opportunities and scope of the hydrogen economy. As part of the project, a visual message – a video description – has been created.
Baltic Sea H2 project is creating something unique, Europe’s first large scale cross-border hydrogen valley, connecting Finland and Estonia.
By uniting 40 partners from 9 Baltic Sea countries, the project aims to establish a hydrogen economy that supports energy self-sufficiency and reduces emissions across multiple industries, including energy, transport and chemicals.
BalticSeaH2 will showcase over 20 hydrogen use cases, demonstrating the entire hydrogen economy ecosystem in practice.
By uniting local areas into a broader hydrogen valley, BalticSeaH2 is paving the way for a more sustainable, integrated energy future.
In a hydrogen valley, the distribution and utilization value chains as well as side streams like heat have been considered beforehand to maximize sector integration and efficiency.
Baltic Sea H2 valley includes 6 industries, energy, transport, chemical, petrochemical, refining and fertilizer industry.
The Baltic Sea region is uniquely suited for this, with existing infrastructure, electricity grids, marine traffic, district heating for sector integration, and already planned gas pipelines. It’s the perfect location for a cross-border hydrogen market.
Interregional valleys connect different countries from a cross-border hydrogen economy.
Advancing the decarbonization of Europe efficiently via cooperation. The Baltic CH2 project is advancing technology, skills and expertise to establish a robust hydrogen economy, supporting a carbon neutral and energy independent future for everyone.
